The winner of the October 2008 Photo of the Month is
mcsassy
Specifics of the Photograph
The picture was taken with a Canon EOS 40D digital SLR. No flash! Flash is bad! = )
It was during a period that the fish started getting sick and the tangs were bunching up together more than usual for some reason and I just happened to be there taking pictures when this little action packed scene went down.
RIP - Mango, Bubbles, Dori.

Hello all! Niko asked if I can write up about my tank and I surely will. Well first off all three of my tangs in that picture passed shortly after the picture was taken within a couple weeks. They dropped one by one from brook I believe and they got it because it was difficult to stabilize the parameters of the tank after we moved, so may the rest in peace in their areas in my backyard. Along with them went two firefish, a flame angel and my female clown of my mated pair of oscellaris. Now on to the better stuff. The tank is closing in on being a year old, 72 gallon bowfront with 80lbs of live sand, 65lbs of live rock, 125 proclear wet/dry, rio return, proclear skimmer, coralife 265 watt CF lunar kit and I recently started using chemi-pure elite to get rid of all the medicines I was treating my tank with and it's done much more than that! I use 2.5 gallon bottles of RO/DI water from the store...I just store them above the sump in the cabinet and open the nossle whenever it's time for a top off. I've gone through many fish (not all died, but some have been trouble makers and have gone back to the store!) and I have learned so very much about everything in this time. I plan on getting corals after I get the nano tunze wavebox that is coming in december and most my fish died early september so I am waiting until then to add fish as well. So I am just trying to do other things right now...I got a lot of banded trochus snails which are very very excellent cleaners of ALL types of algae...like you would not believe! I am trying to build up some coraline algae and keep the tank balanced and nice. My survivors are a green wrasse, blue spot puffer, male clown and one firefish. Thanks for those who have helped me along the way and thanks for voting for my fish that once were. Rip Mango, Bubbles and Dori. A shot from before just for fun as well.
