Can a Crocea clam fit in a 12 gallon tank? How about a 24 gallon? Do they add to the bioload?

What other fish do you suggest for a 24 gallon nanocube?

If I go with the 24, I plan on modding the hood for 132W of PC lighting from nano tuners, if not just going with the 150 W HQI kit.

Thanks!

A small clam can fit in a 12G, but they do need better lighting than PCs IMO. They do nothing to the bio-load, they are filter feeders, so that actually help keep the water clean. They are known to be calcium suckers though so you have to keep your calcium levels in check when you get a clam.

yeah i've done some more research since posting this, and it looks like pc's will not quite cut it. Some say yes, some say no.... we don't need to start that discussion

I think I'll just wait a while and get the Nanocube 28gal with 150 W HQI. This should be sufficient for a nice mini reef, correct?

Thanks

Well, back to square one....Ii've only got room for a 12 gallon nano... could I upgrade the lighting to 96W power compact and place the clam up higher? or would the Viper 70W HQI Lamp be a better choice? I like the containment of the hood, that is why I ask. Thanks!

IMO the only clams that need phyto are clams less than 2 inches, I have Crocea and Maxima's in my tank going on 3 years and have never added a drop of phyto. I think the 70 watt HQI would be a much better choice than the PC's
