Well, I came home from work today just in time to watch my favorite discus die. He was floating belly up when I got there, apparently taking his last breaths.. Looked like he had SBD or something...
Anyway, there goes another one...

Swim bladder DEATH...
his belly was bloated, and he was floating belly up while still alive...
He tried to swim, but floated to the top like a beachball..

You're not feeding them dry foods are you, like algae tabs meant for other fish?

Hmmm, I did put a couple algae wafers in the tank for the pleco and otos yesterday.. I guess that was a bad idea?
I feed them bloodworms, and colorbits.. and I put flakes in the tank for the tetras.. I have seen them eat the flakes also..

That'll do it! They are such pigs, sometimes you get one that just won't leave the tabs alone till it eats the whole thing and blows up. What I do now is place them in the bushy plants after the lights go out. I have one royal blue albino that I need to keep away from the algae tabs. She tries to find it with the night light on in the room at night but they are not so successful with them broken, then hidden in the thick crypts. I had one discus that blew herself up regularly, I'd treat her with epsom salts, she'd purge, and do it again. I lost her eventually. Flakes are fine, and even shrimp pellets don't seem to cause a problem cause they take on water instantly. The algae wafers are designed to either not dissolve or dissolve very, very slowly.

sorry for your loss
good point deb.. discus love those wafers.
mine will try to steal them from the BN in their tank.
luckily the bn is a HOG and takes them back.
I do usually only feed wafers at night.
