How much molting is too much molting? I have over 20 cherries, not sure exactly how many and I find their molted skins (shells) pretty often.

I'm not giving them any iodine, the water is clean and healthy, pH is neutral, room temp. Algae wafers, fish flakes and I bought some Hbh crab and lobster bites that I just started giving them like a day ago.

They also have tons of java moss in there. They get sun from a window so there should be some naturally occurring algae in there too.

I have some new babies from the pregnant ones that came with my order so I think everything is healthy for them. A lot of the females are saddled. I've had them for a few weeks now.

They have a weak 10 gallon tank filter turned down and an airstone too.

They were pretty light at one point but are nicely colored now.

Sounds like they are just growing fast no worries ....

yup, they're fine... usually if they molt, that means that you did a WC and they are just getting used to it... and yea they will eat their old molted skins... so no worries

They can also molt frequently after stress and through normal growth. As long as everyone is seemingly fine, i wouldn't worry.

Yeah, it sounds like you've got a healthy tank. The only thing is that if you want babies, you should cover the intake of your filter with a sponge or pantyhose. I used panyhose, and it works great. It does seem to get clogged faster than sponge, though. I just switched to a sponge cover last week, and my filter hasn't clogged up at all. Before, the pantyhose would get clogged within a couple days. But then, I think I was overfeeding, and I have cut down on that.

I have tights on it too. I'm being very careful not to over feed and haven't had any clogs yet.
