Thanks

From what little I can see of the snail, it doesn't appear to be anything of worry. For snail identification, you have to be able to see the details of the snail's aperture, which means making the snail withdraw to where up close and in focus photos can be obtained. I have many examples of such details within the snail section of my hitch hiker pages if you care to look.

Is it the standard snail spiral? Or more a halfshell? If it is on the halfshell way cool. Great algae grazer.

Probably a form of turbo snail though, you will see many many many of them. They breed young

Basically good, but can clog pump intakes etc.

I have similar, and I have pointed ones I haven't ID'd yet, and now my nassarious laid eggs and I think I have bunches hatching :)

Charles: not to hijack this thread, but your site "Chuck's Addiction" is terrific. Thank you very much, can tell a lot of hard work and passion went into it. Thanks again. David

It looks to me that they are the half-shell type but its hard to tell they are very small and my tank is a bow front so most views are pretty distorted when look at those angles. I figured if they were bad I would have already seen some damage so I'm a bit more easy. Oh and Chuck awesome job on that site haven't had a chance to sit and study it with school and all but I took a look at it and saw tons of good info.
Thanks

These are some of mine, little different markings from what I can tell. But they sure know how to have fun :)

Thanks, am always thrilled to hear that the website is of use or at least, of interest to others. I have to admit though that I've been neglecting my collection efforts on hitch hikers lately as I am trying to photo document the Caridean shrimp (http://www.chucksaddiction.com/Caridean.html)species found here. Check it out when time permits.
