I am wondering if anyone can tell me the best source for seachem products. I dont have a lfs that carries anything decent. I am in the sticks! I have looked all over the net and unfortunatley the shipping will kill ya! almost twice as much as the products . Is there anyplace with good prices and good shipping prices?
thanks

When I did use their ferts, I wouldnt buy anything in less than their 500ml bottles and excel by the 2L. But shipping isnt that bad considering that in my LFS, flourish and excel both go for $8+ for 250ml. Bigal's and DFS, $10 shipping isnt that bad considering the weight of the liquids.

Thats another reason why Dry ferts trump liquids, because most of the cost is from buying water or paying to ship said water.

I have no idea how to use dry fert's I would be very happy to try them but man I would sure hate to mess things up in my tanks.
Thanks gamer I just made a purchase of food from kens today. Never thought to look for it there .

I buy fluorish excel from Big Al's Online, usually in the 4 liter bottle. I buy my dry fert, PMDD pre-mix, at Aquarium Fertilizer . com.

If you check out

http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/water-parameters/21944-_dosing-regimes_.html

There is a really good dosing schedule for EI dosing (developed by Tom Barr). The basic idea is you dose more then your plants will use so you don't run out of anything. This method does require large (50% is recommended) water changes each week to prevent your water parameters in check but it eliminates the need to test and works really well at preventing algae if used in conjunction with pressurized CO2 and a drop checker (to maintain consistant levels of CO2).

Either a Janday or a Sunday, I can't get any of the bird breeders on my bird forums to agree. His name is Prometheus, aka Mr. Screamyface.

10$ then 48$ to ship, a bit deceptive.

$48 to ship, I got a quote for $8.44, unless there is a hidden fee in there.

Seachem product from Drsfostersmith $10.00 shipping
Each bottle cost you $4.99
$45 gets you all Seachem ferts delivered to your door

If you have over a 50 gallon tank I would get the dry ferts instead for about $42.00 shipped to your door.
But then you have to mix your own and keep some of them in the fridge. Some only last a couple weeks to a month so you have to make smaller bottles of those.

Local fish stores in my area want between $10.00 and $14.00 per bottle plus tax...

Also to add to Jag's post, the Seachem selection for $45 might only last a few months, but the dry ferts will last a year or more.
