I'd thought I'd take a minute to share the good news :). Out of the 4 bettas in my 75gallon community, the dominant male and female have spawned :D. Papa's very good at his job and is chasing any fish that threaten his nest. I'll probably be seeing little ones in a day or two if they're not eating first :).

This is the second egg layer spawning to go on in here (neons spawn about every weekend). :D :D

Thanks :). When it started getting colder up here, I put the heater back in the tank. Within a week they started spawning, and haven't stopped since. I only have an old pic, about a month and a half old, I'll try to get a newer one when possible.

Most the plants are much taller now....

The betta you see in the pic is Larry, he's the papa :)

Here's a link to the pic in an old thread :

They really seem to like spawning over the water wysteria and the java moss. I personally like the apongetons and I really like java ferns even though I have none in this tank. Fanwort also looks really nice, IMO.

I think that there should be live plants in every community tank, if the fish allow. They make it so much more healthy, and it looks the part too. Not only that, but the fish's behavior changes, they seem a lot calmer.

I only have one .... not sure the length, but one Sunlight Growlight from Home Depot. I don't use fertilizers, but I would like too when my LFS starts carrying them.
