View Full Version : Add 2nd CO2 Bottle?

My DIY CO2 rig has been running for a couple weeks now and everything is going well. I was considering adding a 2nd bottle to the system, but was wondering if it was worth it.

I already have the pieces and everything, would just require drilling another hole and letting the sealant dry.

I'm waiting on my drop checker (yay for free shipping from China :headshake2:), so I'm not sure what the levels are at.

This is for my 15 gallon btw :)

Be careful you don't OD your fish.
See my earlier post in this forum

1- you can add another bottle without a problem.. i ran 4L on my 10g

2- drop checker is sweet.. BUTTTT order 4dkh solution off greenleafaquariums.com Because the solution they provide with drop checker is just ph reagent.. (i know i just got the same one this week)

Yes add another, the consistency from two staggered-started bottles will help, and if your CO2 gets a bit high at startup, run an airpump for a bit.

Its alittle hard to OD on the yeast method really. I run a total of 6L on my 29g, get good growth but I really need to get my LEDs going though.

still hard to OD.. people might have other issues in the tank like their parameters being out of wack and they might think its co2..

OK, so it's hard to OD on CO2.
I'm doing 40-50% PWC's every other day in order to keep the water quality up. My PH was 6.0 this morning B4 the PWC.
On another post I was advised to do a lot of WC's to help the DD blacks survive.
Does anyone have an idea as to why 2 of my angels were sideways & upside down going in circles this morning?
My tapwater is 7.0 PH, so I KNOW there was a bunch of CO2 in the water column.

Thanks in advance
Charles
