Dusty Tank..?

Hey guys... So I'm finally up and running but i have one problem... As the bubbles from the drain pipe escape into the sump, some of them are coming back out of the return pump and causing the tank to be "dusty"... whats the best work around that? i have tried repositioning the drain hose in the sump but no luck...

it is really getting annoying and making the tank look horrible...

any ideas?

You should have baffles to stop much of the bubbles. If the baffles aren't stopping them, they are either not sufficient or you have too much coming from your return. The other option is to use a filter sock on the incoming overflow water, which will stop the bubbles.

what is a filter sock? just a sock of mine wrapped around the end of the drain hose?? or sumthing id buy from the LFS?

haha yeh i have one i just got from my LFS that im using to put some carbon in... ill probably go grab another one 2morow from my LFS...

on another not, wat are baffles? baffles in my sump like dividers?

alright interesting... perhaps a project for next weekend... for now tho, what has smaller holes, a 200 micron or 100 micron sock?

100 microns is smaller. FWIW, microns = micrometers, so the pore size on the socks are 100 um vs. 200 um.
