Hi everyone...
Im new to fish lore, and to having a tank. Basically Im a beginner.
I have set up my tank, and everything is running smoothly. ie heater, water pump etc. Its only been 1 day and I shall be waiting patiently for my nitrogen cycle to begin...
However after testing my water and having it confirmed, its pH is 6.3. Is this too low, for my intended tropical fish or for the bacteria to develop?
Will Coral Sand help raise the pH to atleast ph 7?
Please help...

Welcome to AC I am sure you can get all the answers to your questions here. I would suggest posting in the freshwater newbie forum you will probably get a better response there:)

Hello, :welcome: to AC.

Don't worry about your ph as long as it stays stable, changing it can cause more problems.

Hello and welcome.

You can use baking soda to buffer the pH, if you decide you need to do that. It's cheap and easy. I add a little with each water change in my goldfish tank to keep the pH stable. I also use it in my koi pond for the same reason. You might want to test to see how hard your water is before you add anything to adjust the pH.
