Ok lets try this again. LOL
My buddy sent me this email and I have had to fight with the pics to get them here for ya'll to see. LOL
But like I said before some people think that the only good snake is a dead one will here are some pics that will make you think twice about that decision. Pretty simple decision if you ask me
:nutkick:King Snake or Rattle Snake
Hope ya'll enjoy.

Hmm. Thats pretty cool. I must admit though, I am suprised...
How does a non venomous snake eat a live rattler without getting bitten and killed by it?
They immune to the venom or something?
BTW the Indigo is now a threatened species in some states in the USA...

sometimes it just comes down to getting that bite on the head just right... luck of the draw and who's quicker..

Yes thank you JRR.
Zigman, Most of the time it is that they are faster or stronger. If you look at the 1st pic he has the rattlers head so there wasn't going to be anymore biting. LOL. I figure that the rattler thought that he was going to come up to the indigo and pass on by when the indigo snapped into action and had the rattler just where he wanted him.

snake venom is easily digested, its like a western, fastest man (snake) wins

In this case the Inidgo is immune to the Rattler's bite. It had no chance against a hungry Indigo Snake that over powers it's victims instead of constricting them. Sucks to get eaten alive!

You know what's even more fascinating? Rattlers are not immune to their own venom! That's why if 2 rattlers get in a fight, they don't bite each other. Other snakes like King and Milk snakes are also immune to Rattler venom.

neat! as long as the snake heads off in the other direction after finishing off the rattler and not toward the photographer :p
I know, it probably wouldn't eat something as big as a hooman (or would it?) but if I saw an Indigo polish off a rattler I'd feel no shame backin off "It's cool man, it's cool, water heater's all yours"

Lol, I was just wondering before I read all the way through the head how the venom when digested would not affect the indigo. Guess I wasn't the only one.
Great series of shots. Saw a 10ft snake in my backyard back 6-8 years ago, I just went the other way, also saw a 80lb snapper the same day. I guess it was just the day for giants.

a little harsh...i think he uses caps because its easier for him to read. and as long as caps are as easy to read as lower case i don't think it should be enough of a problem to complain about it like that
