Help Id this catfish

I was given this catfish and they said they didn't know what it was other than they thought some kind of african catfish. It's been in freshwater so I don't know much of anything about it. Would like to know what it is so I can decide if I can keep it or have to find a new home for it. Also to know what it eats and water temp/prams as well as how big it might get. Right now it's about 5 or 6 inches, don't know how old it is. Sorry about the photos, best I could get I'm afraid.
