So would that be acceptable? Would he be able to live comfortably in that for life with mystery snails?

thanks flaringshutter :)

what do you think about a black moore and a ryukin together in the 30g? idk if ryukins get bigger than black moores or if they have different needs etc...so what do you think? :D

hmmm...ok. Do Ryukins do well with social changes?
For example, say i put them both in the planted 30g, the Ryukin proves to be too much of a bully or too big, so i take him and one of my fancies from my big tank swap places with them, with the ryukin in the big tank, and the other fancy in the ryukin's spot with the black moore.
so i guess what i am asking is, will the ryukin be missing the black moore that he grew up with? and ostracize himself from the goldie "community" in my other tank?

i keep a variety of goldfish together in my tanks and allow 15gal per fish the only goldfish i keep seperate are ranchu's and bubble eyes they have a hard time getting food with the other types of goldfish. i have black moors in tanks with various other types of goldfish and there is no problem. i dont keep comets but they can be nippy from my past experience with them and koi's are very nippy to goldfish with long fins i have rescued several goldfish with no fins due to koi's eating them. LFS sometimes mix them all together in big tanks im not sure why but i usually complain if i see that and tell them why its not a good idea.
