I'm thinking about setting up an invert tank(10g i think...) and after my recent shrimp disaster, Im being MUCH more careful!

Can you mix say....red cherries with greens? Or soemthing similar? I'm thinking you cant but I just wanted to ask.

You can mix cherries with the cardina green species. You just can't mix different neocaridina. The only issue that you run into is that some species have different requirements. Generically speaking, caridina like cooler and softer waters than the neocaridina, but most neocaridina are pretty flexible with adjusting to parameters if acclimated slowly.

One sp. of Shrimp, Snails and Plants make a nice Invert Tank.

That's interesting since I would have thought all shrimp would require hard water because the exterior skeleton. Hmmm . . . I have a lot of research to do before I set up my first shrimp tank.

unfortunately the water here in southern cali's rather hard, guess it's not very ideal for caridina :(

you could look into malaya shrimp to go with your cherries, i believe they do well in higher pH.
