Hey guys,
I'm going to be leaving for holiday in a few weeks, and was wondering if I could use an automatic feeder to feed the fish... Only thing is im feeding my stock frozens...
Can I just keep the frozens in the compartments or will they rot if they stay too long? Any other ideas how to automate their feeding for a week?

I don't know of any automatic feeder that will keep frozen food. I think if you just put frozen food into your automatic feeder, it would indeed rot.

If you are going to be gone for a month you will need to have someone stop in and check on the tank a couple times a week IMO. What will you do for top off and cleaning the skimmer and checking the pumps???

Flakes and pellets for a month is hardly an issue for the fish. It would take far longer for any nutritional problems to result. I recommend the nicer ones (for reliability's sake), such as the Eheim feeders. They are automated with a nice, large digital display.

alright so i guess its flakes... there WILL be someone comming in once a week to clean the skimmer and topoff the sump, but daily will be a hassle.. So flakes it is!
