hello all.... i found this site looking for information on ghost shrimp... The reason i was looking is because i purchased 7 ghost shrimp and 3 mystery snails (yellow) And i noticed 1 of my ghosties has eggs.... so i was wondering if it would be okay if i put her in a 1 gal gold fish bowl until she has her babies, then put her back in 10 gal, and leave the babies in the bowl until they get alittle bigger????

You could do that, in fact, it would be better for your shrimp babies if you do that. Ghost shrimp babies hatch out as little larva floating in the water, feeding on algae and little bugs in the water. After about 3 weeks, they come down and turn into little ghost shrimp.

Thanks so much for the info.... unfortunately i didnt have time to move her I Had her in a net breeder that is attatched to the tank ... and she had some of her babies.. but she isnt finished having them all... i think she has had 5... and she is still carrying some eggs

I bought one from my LFS that was all berried up. I only look at the tank about twice a day. A few days ago I took out all but 3 of the tiniest most hard to catch guppies out of her tank. Now she has no more eggs under her. I can't find any babies... do you think 3 tiny (under 1 cm) guppies in a 10g would eat all of her babies or do you think they could be hiding?

i say they are hiding... and they are as fast as lightening.. lol.. if you dont have much for them to hide in get a few plants... they work good..
