as ex military i can not believe what i just read

no way no how is an 8 year old capable enough to free fire that perhaps if the instructor is holding his hand to prevent this exact thing from happening

As an avid hunter, an Army brat, an Army wife...and a person who whole heartedly believes in teaching her children about firearms, that child had no business firing that weapon with an instructor or not. There are certain weapons that can be safely fired by a smaller person, but that is not one of them! I can not believe they were stupid enough to allow an 8 year old to fire it.

:swear: what is wrong with people? letting an 8yr. old fire an automatic firearm? It is stupid people like that make buying/owning firearms such a pain!

Just one more reason why children and guns DON'T mix.

My three have been taught gun safety all of their lives. They learned to shoot at eight, starting with .22 revolvers and single shot .22 rifles, nobody has been hurt by MY kids.

My children are also being taught gun / hunting safety. It is the adults involved in that situation that I have a problem with!

It wasn't an Uzi, it was a Micro-Uzi, much smaller and lighter but fires the same round!

>>>He said his family avoided the larger weapons, but he let his son try the Uzi because it's a small weapon with little recoil.<<<

Any body that knows anything about firearms knows that this is wrong. I wouldn't let my 5'8" 160lb 13 year old son fire one on auto before having him pop a dozen rounds off in semi-auto!
