I am wanting to purchase A LOT of duckweed. A gallon baggie full or more. I have recently discovered my turtle loves it so I would like to have enough to cover the top of his 55.

You could check your lfs, mine gave me some for free, they just can't seem to get rid of the stuff!

I only buy non-living stuff from ANY of my LFS's. None of them are worth even looking into the tanks. thanks for the suggestion though :)

Boy... I could have given you enough to completely cover my 10 gallon about 2 weeks ago... now with my bigger filter the surface agitation is apparently too much for it to handle. it is turning white and the bullfrog tad is eating it.
You could obtain duck weed from a pond or puddle and then use a mild bleach solution then rinse with tank water.... that would sterilize it. sort of.

I might be able to get you some. It is from the wild though so you might want to put it in a tank by itself for a while to make sure it doesn't carry anything to your turtle.

I have enough to cover the surface of a 10 gallon tank. I don't know if it's enough to meet your needs though.

If you change your mind just let me know. It is duck season here and my husband is out there with the duck weed everyday.

Would you like frogbit for your turtles to eat instead? :-P I can do a VERY large portion (covers a 20L's surface area) portion for $13 shipped.

I have 2 30 gallon tanks covered with duckweed, and will be thinning most of it out again this weekend if you're interested.
