I'm wanting to sell my bettas but don't know the best method for shipping them (and it will most likely be usps priority). Should I use kordon breather bags and tie off right above the water line, or use regular bags and only partially fill the bag with water, allowing the bettas to breathe the atmospheric air trapped in the bag? Also, will air from a bicycle pump be sufficient for the fish?

What do your bettas look like?

Betta are antasomethingorothers, aka they breath from the air as well as the water thusly breather bags can hinder them as in stressful times their preference is to breath from the air rather then the water. Shipping betta should ALWAYS be done 3 day or faster, the longer they are in transit the more chance for damage. Make sure to include almond leaves or they will turn on their own fins.

Buyers are typically not happy if they get fish that have devoured their fins.

I ship in standard fish bags, filled with enough water to just cover over them. I pump with enough air, via air pump, to fill it to the point its still soft so that it has room to expand if the box is flown. One fish per bag whether its a male or a female, if something happens you don't want 4 dead fish you want 1 if you have to have a dead fish I mean.

I got bettas in the mail last week, and they were individually bagged in regular 2-3mm bags with 1/3 water 2/3 air.
