I got tired of clogged up filters in my eclipse systems 6 and 12. As you know it is a filter cartrige, that has filter pad and carbon inside plastic container. After a week or two it gets clogged and water does not go through it but just flows over. I rinse it but it only helps for 12-24 hours. Only changing cartrige actually helps. After going through 3 cartriges in one month I finally cut plastic box and dumped out carbon. It is much better now. My question is, do I add some filter floss, etc, or one filter pad it sufficient mechanical filtration. This filter also has bio wheel.
