Hey everybody!!! Today I bought the 38G!!!:headbang2: :nilly: :woot: Early Christmas present for ME!!! I'm planning on doing the switch on saturday. I bought it because it was the only one I had seen here in Puerto Rico and I heard they're not bringing that size here anymore. So I rushed to the store and found out that someone had reserved it, I don't know when, but I managed to get out of the store with it :D. So now I'm into a couple of uncertainties: I have a mixed substrate with river sand, eco-complete, and standard gravel and I wish to take out the standard gravel and add something as thin as eco-complete or sand becuase my cories have lost their whiskers with the standard gravel and I feel bad for them. So, if I add Tahiti Moon Sand would it look bad all those three things combined (eco-complete, greyish river sand, and Tahiti Moon Sand)? Or should I add more eco-complete or more greyish river sand? I also have a two sided background; on one side it's black and on the other it's light blue...would it look bad a black tank and stand with black background and dark substrate?(I also have a black Angelfish) Or would the blue background stand out more? Or shall I have a more greyish substrate with a black background? I really need your help in this one guys!!! Sorry for the long thread! Hope to receive answers as soon as possible since I'm putting this baby up soon!!! Thanks in advance for your help!!!

So...MG told me that should not use Tahiti Moon Sand with my bottom feeders so, what should I do? Greyish substrate with black background? or darker substrate (more eco-complete than river sand with light blue background? Help people help!!! That info from MG makes things a bit easier!!!

Okay, I've cut it down to other two: I concluded a darker substrate would be better (more eco-complete than greyish river sand). Now, shall I use a black background or a light blue one?

I prefer a black background personally, but that is up to you. Either will look very nice. I also prefer eco-complete, but whatever you decide will be great. Congratulations on y our new tank and I look forward to seeing pics!

Thanks Jinkzd! So Jinkzd, right now as I said I have a mixture and I'm planning to stay with the river sand, a bag of eco-complete I had used (to stay with part of the beneficial bacterias in the established substrate) and buy a new bag of eco-complete. That's okay right, I should stay with part of the old substrate? And you agree that black tank, black stand, dark substrate and black background would look okay? Sorry, just want to clarify doubts...

Lol nice score. I think the black background, stand, etc would look really good.
