my boyfriend bought 2 zebra loach about 2 weeks ago.. one is absolutely fine but the other is very thin, wont eat and barely moves. He hasnt eaten since my boyfriend bought him. Could he have an illness? Maybe internal parasites?

Water parameters are: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate .10

What size tank? What else is in the tank? What have you tried feeding so far?

Some fish take a while to adapt and in the process refuse to eat until they nearly starve themselves...

Blood worms are a good loach fattener but if it's "skinny" disease look to loaches, com, you brits have different meds available to you. A wormer & antibiotic might be helpful. Good luck to you & your zeebs.

Ive researched about the skinny disease and it looks like he has that :(
Ive put him in my hospital tank at the moment and treated it with a medicine called sterazin that says it kills internal worms and parasites.

From the research ive done it says that once you can see the fishes bones its untreatable? Is this true? You can see the bones on this poor little guy and i dont want him to suffer if theres no hope for him :(

Should my boyfriend treat his tank aswell? We are worried incase the other loach gets the disease too.

The tank the loach was originally in was a 50L with a few black phantom tetra, a betta and 2 male guppies.

We have tried feeding flakes, tetra bits, sinking loach/ catfish pellets and bloodworms.

You should give the med time to work but sometimes there's nothing to be done. I'm not familiar with sterazin so can't advise. I'm sorry. Is the other loach eating well?

Yes the other loach is eating fine he will eat pretty much anything you give him, the only difference between them from when i got them is they were bought from different places. Might of been abit of a 'dodgy' shop I guess.
