So I have this idea to convert a hanging garage furnace into a waste oil burner. Just need a doner furnace... (Watching one on ebay)

Was thinking of simply removing the stock burner assy, and adding a combustion chamber in its place with a oil fired gun.

Has anyone else done this? anyone burning waste oil?

is the garage attached to your house?

if so, prepare for an insurance nightmare.. modifying something like that and using it in your home (or building attached or adjacent) is going to give them every reason to deny a claim, if such an unfortunate event arises.)

that said.. lots of people have done it, but i honestly couldnt tell you anything about it, i don't have any experience burning waste oil in anything but cars.
