I picked this up at the local pet store clearance bin, is it worthy of using? any good, never heard of?
It is a Hydor, 200w inline Heater for 5/8 id hose, i have a fluval 404, can i use clear vinyl hoses on my fluval?

you could give it a try put id use it in a separate tank to ensure nothing happens to your established one(s)

So, if it was brand new, it's an awesome heater. AWESOME AWESOME heater. If it's a returned item, just keep an eye on it for a little while to make sure it's not overheating

It is brand new, and there were two of them. Just looked like it had been kickin around the store for ages is all.

I have been using two hydor inlines for a about 4 years now. They are inline with Eheim canisters. I absolutely love them.
One is one the intake side and the other is on the outflow side (dif filters). I would prefer to have both on the outflow side, but on one tank there was no other way.

Hydors are very highly regarded. If you got that brand new, you got a steal. :thm:
