thanks! But will it affect my fish in anyway? Like right now, they're all just like sitting there, and when i go, instead of them following me like they usually do, they run away. Are they like bloated? Yes, I have cut up the peas, though the big one at a big peice that slipped out of my hand.

Peas will relieve constipation. It is good for their digestive system.

Peas are an effective laxative. I had a betta who developed constipation from too many bloodworms (my fault :wall:), and a diet of mashed pea cured him. Just don't overfeed, or you'll give your fish the runs. :yuck:

Thanks! But i was wondering if it would change their behavior? Like now, my fish are somewhat more lazy, like they never greet me anymore. Ok, so one of the fish does, but he's all slug-ish. They seem more... slow. Never really race up to get food, and i never see one of the fish looking for food, like scanning the bottom of the tank. Just swims.... and pokes at the fake plant i have in there. Is this normal?

How do you get your fish to eat peas if they have grown accustomed to dried flake foods? Would you want to starve them for a few days?

i don't know.... I just plopped the sliced peas in there and the fish started munching away at it....
Well..... I'm wondering right now if I should, because they should be hungry since they barely ate any food. Should I try feeding them bloodworms or something?

It was.
I would nuke a few peas in a bowl of tank water, squeeze out the pulp, and then mash it. I'd use a toothpick to put some of it in the water, and my betta gulped it right up. I gave him some once a week.

My comets love them. We adopted 2 severely neglected comets and when we got them 1 of them would swim tipped a little to one side due to constipation/swallowing air. After feeding peas, it would swim fine for several days, go crooked again, and we'd feed peas again. It seems to have outgrown it, but the both still love peas.
