hope with me that we can find them a good home. They've gotten aggressive, one of them tried to eat one of the catfish and almost died :(

Wait..was it the catfish or the oscar that almost died?

oscars are, by nature, and default, aggressive. what size tank are they in? cramped quarters can often spur more violent territory issues than normal.

this should have been expected from the start, honestly.. i hope he can re-home them soon.

A hard fish to find a home for. Any fish clubs in your area?

What size tank are they all in?Oscars aren't really aggressive unless other fish are moving in on their space. If the tank is too small, then they will show some aggressive behavior. One mistake Oscar owners make is not knowing that they need a really big tank to keep more than one Oscar and any other fish with it.For two Oscars and catfish,150g would be a good start.
But anyway, try posting the fish in the classifieds here. Also try craigslist, look for Oscar rescues on the net,and if there are any LFS where you live, ask them if they would be willing to take them.I would offer them for free. There is a LFS where I live that will always take large fish for free, because they can turn around and sell them for a huge profit. But there are often people looking for adult fish to fill out a tank,or just don't want to wait to grow out juvis. So if you offer them for free,I think there is a good chance for finding a good home for them.
Good Luck!

The oscar almost died.

They are in a 175g tank and the cats have been in there with them from the beginning with no issues. Now since he attacked the catfish he won't eat regular food and keeps going after the other fish. I cry like a baby every time it happens so switching them over to live food is not an option. I am headed to my lfs now to see if they will be willing to take them. If not I will contact the local aquarium society and see what I can do. IT's up to me to find them a home as he just wants to throw them in the creek :(

LFS wont take them. she told me to try another store. If they won't take them I will have to resort to Craigs list.

yeah please do try craigs list and i would list them to a good home without a fee or not your call but for the fish sake i wouldnt let him release them into the creek to only die a slow ill fate death plus it may be against the law in your area to do so as well, also see if you have a local paper dedicated to buying and selling items like a bargain mart paper you may have to pay a small fee to place an ad but your fish would love it, good luck in this endeavor..

i see that it gets cold in your neck of the woods so they would most def die in that situation..

It is ALWAYS against the law to introduce a non-native species to native waterways, and it should NEVER ever even be considered, regardless of climate.
