Hey guys I've found a wholesale fish seller on ebay and they're located not far from me. On the ebay site the have C. Julii for sale but I'm not entirely stupid and know that 99.99% of c.julii is in fact c.trilineatus.

Does anyone know how what the differences between the two are?

I'm going to go have a look at the actual shop first. (I'd rather go examine their stock than get fish shipped from ebay at least I can see the quality of the fish)

julii's spots are distinct spots, compared to trilineatus that have spots that kind of blend together (reticulated if that's the right word). Also, I think the three lines are much more distinct on a trilineatus.

Right - instead of distinct spots, C. trilineatus have more of a Greek Key or reticulated pattern going.

Check PlanetCatfish.com for pics.

I recently saw this http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=508 Just to make it harder there's a "spotted form" of trilis. I give up!
