Powerful or should I say powerhead attraction. I found where 1 of my new little loaches was--inside the outlet of the turned off powerhead. I looked for him there the second day when he was missing but couldn't see him. Didn't come out when I picked it up out of the tank either. But today I saw his tail tip barely sticking out. Good thing I didn't turn it on or remove it, hopefully it'd just blow him out.
All the new histrionicas like the black prefilter sponge I have over the intake. They love laying on top, swimming beside it, grazing all over it. It was in another tank & probably tastes different. I had it on for only a few minutes, it's way to strong for a 20g long & small loaches.
One of my crimson loaches liked that outlet too. Funny the crimson was face out; the histy, tail out. I don't really know what the inside of a Maxijet PH looks like, did the 1 fish back in or turn around? Where's the impeller inside there? I never thought of botias going in there, though I've read hillstreams will even when the PH is on. I better check the Aqua Clear PH with my sids, some are smaller than these new guys :22_yikes:
Anyway, beware the powerhead & curious fish, I'll be more aware now
