Anyone have an opinion about the digital stick-on thermometers that attach to the outside of the tank?
Also, do they work on an acrylic tank?

yea they work on acrylic tanks.
i like them they are great, i hate those old ghetto suction cup thermometers. they are accurate too i checked all mine to a normal thermometer and they were perfect. i would get the removable ones bkuz the permanent ones leave this film on the tank that is a pain to get off.

The stick-on-the-outside digital thermometers I've used all seemed to be influenced a lot by the room temperature. When our heat goes down at night, the would read much differently (and inaccurately) than when the room temp was closer to the tank temp.
I now get $9 indoor/outdoor digital thermometers from Radio Shack and stick the 'outdoor probe' into the tank. Works well.

Jim Great idea, and worth it.. The 'stick-on' types seem ok, but can be hard to read...
Here's one I like with Upper and Lower temperature Alarms... The top reading is the room temp and the bottom reading is the tank temp..

I'd like to know what kind of fish you're keeping in that tank!

By that temperature, I'm guessing fishsticks!

The stick on thermometers seem to be off 3 or so degrees. I tried one of the RadioShack digital thermometers, and then I got the Rainbow Lifeguard Big Digital Temp Alert (pictured above) and it is very accurate. I highly recomment it. It is a bit pricy, but worth it.

I have some that are going on 4 years old and they still work great. The Radio Shack (trust me, I'm not an employee!) variety are my preferred type, because the probe that goes into the tanks is sealed, so there's less chance of a failure. For $9, it's WAY cheaper than the digitals sold thru fish catalogs, and it's considerably more accurate than the stick-on plastic thermometers.
