I recently noticed a spot on the, what I would call the bridge of the nose, on my angel. She is a marble and that part is black so it was real noticable. I thought that she might have just scraped herself and that it would heal and go away in time. Well now that I have been watching it, it seems to be getting deeper and whiter. I am not for sure what it is. I have looked into HITH and I am uncertain that is what she has but it doesn't look the same in photos of it. I know that it would be better if I had a pic, and I am working on that but she is hard to photograph expecially on that side with the problem.
I have also sat down and watched her for a few and I have noticed that she will jerk every once in awhile, like something bit her. She doesn't scat across the tank or anything it is just a little jerk/headshake. I also witnessed her twitching her (don't know what they are called) two long thread fins from the bottom of the body.
What could be wrong, where do I need to go with getting her well.
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrates 10
ph 7.0

I have her, 1 glolight tetra that has escaped the jaws of my bichir and a few mystery snails.
No addition except a few ghost shrimp that were snacks, came from my other tank not a lfs.
No aggresion, no changes, have been doing proper maintance. I check this tank at least 2 a week for water params.
O and I forgot i added some sea sand in there about 3 days ago but that was after I seen the spot. It was washed really good and it was added to add calcium carbonate to the water too.

A picture would be helpful we could guess but it would be just that.
This what I will suggest as it does not involve any meds that could do more harm then good if we guess wrong. move the angle to a qt and treat with aquarium salt 2 tbs per 10g of water slowly raise the tempature to 86 no more then 2 degrees per day do 20% daily water changes keeping the salt ratio. When the temp reaches 86 you may have to add an air stone to the tank as the o2 in the water drops signifacantly the higer the temp. watch for gasping at the surface.
as far as the twitching have you touched the water lately I just had a stealth heater start releasing current into the water and when I touched it I would get a good shock.

Well it hasn't been easy trying to get a pic. She just refuses to let me get a good pic of that side. I pretty much have to harrass her just to let me look at that side. So I don't want to stress her out so I give up.
Anyway the hole is shrinking in size and turning back black (scales are black in that area).
I just increased water changes(every 2 days instead of weekly) and added salt to the tank.
Also Draal5 I would have done had the crap shocked out of me if that was the case b/c I stick my finger in my tanks twice a day just to double check temps. I don't trust thermometers and such to much. If it feels warm good if it feels cold need to double check everything asap.

Sounds like what happened to my female who just recently died. Still unsure as reason 100%.
