I got a few questions I have been keeping malawi cichlids for some time, there are very easy to like lots good coulors etc ,wondered if i had got substrate right as i am usins coral gravel, and the tank size is 90galon , we have 12 malawies two are Maylandia callainos 2 more are lambidochromis Careuleus, two are Alonocara saulosi green face (have since found out these are not true to type hybrids) but need to finde wot the others are
can anyone recomend a good book that is available in the uk, as i am unable to put photo on net ( dont have camra good enough for the job) , The oyher thing was filtration at presant am using a fluvalve 203 its not good enough I feel? may bee a ehime pro 2 do you think? opinions please.

Coral gravel is advisable for rift lake cichlids. Your filtration is very lacking with a single Fluval 203 canister for a 90 gallon tank (US gallons?). I guess they only reason why you can get away with this is your tank is fairly understocked (and hopefully regular water changes). An Eheim canister is never a bad decision, but you could get away with adding a couple of large power filters or replacing your 203 with a Fluval 404 (less money than Eheim).

through out the 203 got a ehime pro 2 at a gift price 2nd hand from a mate still boxed he used it once and decided it was too powerful for the job he was doing (well that was the story he told me bit funny it had never been out of the packging but hay for £20 not asking any more questions) just herers the money thank you, It has made a huge difference Ithuoght my water was good till I used this baby
