I'm setting up a 125 with Geo. Redheads and Geo. Altifrons 'Rio Tocantins'. I'm looking for something that stays near the middle and top portion of the tank. I DON"T WANT ANY FIN NIPPERS.

I want the tank to be mostly concentrated on my Geos but I would like to have a little something to occupy the top of the tank just to make everything a little more LIVELY!

Here are some I am considering(not all of them, just haven't narrowed it down yet)....

some type of Rainbow fish
Roseline sharks
Celestial Danios
Marble Hatchet

Please post your opinions and shoot me some suggestions.BTW, the fish listed above are just some I picked from NE Cichlids list that I thought may be a nice addition to my Geo tank.

Won't celestial danios get eaten? How about giant danios? They truly are under rated and quite pretty.

My Geo Redheads are full grown and I have some very small clown loaches with them, like 2" and they don't bother them so I think the celestial D. will be ok. Although when my Altifrons reach 8"+ then that might be an issue

Anyone keep Roseline Sharks???? Please share your experiences please, like eating habits, where do they stay in the tank(top, middle, bottom)?

While I do not know first hand what strata the roseline inhabit, I do know that they are very costly and not readily available; at least in my area.....They are definitely beautiful! Maybe someone with more experience with them will chime in...

Not sure if CPD's are going to be worth the money in the long run. Keep in mind large fish will eat anything they can fit in their mouths...

Roseline sharks are very timid. They seem to scatter everytime I move by the tank (not mine, a show tank at the LFS that I work at). They also are not the hardiest. Two have died in the past two days after what seems to be starvation. The others are doing fine but they are very expensive fish, unfortunately, so it's a big investment.

I still vote for giant danios as dither/upper level fish - altho I do not have first hand experience with them...........

I forgot to add...I vote for rainbows. A school of bosemanis would look amazing :)

What do you think about the Millenium Rainbows? I'm leaning toward some type of red colored fish for my dithers.

Check out www. H2O(replace H2O with 'water') wolves.com MFK will not let you type the actual web address, LOL. Anyway, go to the classifieds and click on the vendor 'rehoboth aquatics' and check out his Red Congo Tetra thread

NE Cichlids is selling them for like 12 or 13 bucks(Roseline Sharks), while my LFS has them for $39. If you make a big order from Nick, then it will be worth ordering from him.
