New Cannister filter with UV

Hi all ,,,
i bought a 290gph (1100l/h) canister filter with inside UV , it s not a top brand ,actually it s a chinese brand (RS Electrical !) & i bought it for 75$ (that s the best thing i could buy for now with this money) , anyway ,
1- i wonder if it s enough for my 55g(it says for up to 150g tanks on it !) ,?
2-and how long should i turn the UV on ?

I would guess the quoted gph is probably before you add any media to the filter. IMO it wouldn't be enough. AS far as the UV goes, If you're not having a problem why run it. What size is the UV?

i donno what size , the only thing it says is it s 5w ! and it has 2 lamps bout 2" to 3" i think ...
