I finally got this tank up and running after owning for almost 11 months :headbang2:

I'm having trouble properly identifying my plants so feel free to help out.

Background is what I believe to be melon swords

In front of those are some sort of anubias.

2 are mondo grass which I just found out isn't really an aquatic plant :lipssealedsmilie:

And to the left of the driftwood is dwarf sag.

Fluorite substrate with just under 2wpg @ 10,000K. Dumped a dose of Flourish to start things out. Fish will be added in the following weeks.

Enjoy

I'd suggest a stem plant maybe rotala indica or bacopa to add some height. You could also attach the anubias to the wood or java fern "windelov". A good start.

Thanks for the suggestions fishorama. I quite like the look of the bacopa australis so that might be a good addition. I might attach the anubias to the back of the left driftwood but haven't decided yet. The rhizome isn't completely buried, just enough to keep the anubias from drifting around.

Any certain ID on the two background plants? They are some sort of Sword I think but not sure what.

I would look around on the net and find some plants that you like and that would work for your setup. Then go to the classifieds on here and buy them from people on here. You'll get better deals and you'll get plants that are truly aquatic. Good luck with your tank. Hope that helps.

Here are some places to find what types of plants you might like.

I've been pouring over plantgeek for a few weeks now, unfortunately I don't know the plants well enough to differentiate once I get to the store (and apparently neither do the employees). I have always loved Amazon swords so 2-3 of those will go in the background depending on what happens with the current plants.

Forget the store. But them from other hobbyist on here and then you won't get screwed anymore! Seriously. There people selling nice plant packages that will get you alot for the money. The more plants you have the better, as far as fighting of algae.
