I just bought some dwarf hairgrass (coolest thing ever :D) and my dad "look at that moss thing, it is pretty cool!" i said, "i can see if i can buy some!" and he said "no it is alright." But when i came home i noticed that s part of the moss like stuff was stuck to the plant! But i am still not totally sure what this plant is...or even if it is a plant.

I THINK it is willow moss, due to the fact there is an excess amount in my LFS, but it is REALLY small at the same time. The picture is REALLY blurry, even after i sharpened it. But i will do my best to describe it, too.

Description - Green tangled strands
Little brown strands (roots maybe?)
the green strands have what looks like spikes along the edges, like some pine trees (best way i can describe it)

Sounds and looks like java moss to me, the brown things are probably just dead pieces.

Yeah looks like java to me to and yes...with the right amount of light it grows crazy....for example i put a piece roughly about two inches in diameter on driftwood about a month ago and it has completely covered the wood which measures about 5 inches in width and about 12 inches high......have heard stories of it getting into filter canisters and growing there.....

Wrap the java moss around a chopstick and tie it, and just allow it to grow if you want.
