I wanted to plant my 55 so it would have slow growth. I wanted to do this because slow growth planted aquariums are more forgiving and are lower maintenance. I wanted to do this because I had a bad time last time I tried to grow plants. I just want to have a bit of fun and a beautiful aquarium. I have tried researching this type of setup, but I had no luck. I want to light my aquarium with T-8 lighting. I think I would only be able to grow low light and medium-low light plants, but I am unsure. I also do not know of how much light is needed and what other conditions are required for these setups.

Shoot for <1.5 wpg and you shouldn't have to deal with Co2 or ferts, and growth should be minimal. Plants like cryptocorynes, anubias, java fern, etc. should work just fine in the setup.

Here's some plants. First link is for low light, and second is considered medium-low.
