urgent rat help

i have a fancy rat who has a chet infection and is on antibiotics he is eallt struggling to breathe does any one know any triks and ideas how i can help him
i have a olbas oil (decongestant) vapouriser on him atm but was wondering if there was anything else i could do
 
run a hot shower to create lots of steam and take him in there! yeah the room not the shower!
you get olibis oil plug ins they are really good!
also get a syringe to help encourage squirt water in mouth gently and make sure ratty is drinking plenty and thinks thats about it you could get dissolving vitamin c drops and try ( very diluted) to use this to boost immune.
this comes from a few years working and caring for rats ! good luck hope he better soon

ok just had a thought when did it start?
did you change the brand of bedding?
if so take it out and replace with news paper not comfy but it could be allergy!!
shred newspaper to help with comfort.
also have you used anything different in room it lives in?
airfreshner, paint etc?
its not common for rat to get chest infection/cold

thanks mm it 7-8 month he was a rescue rat from a friend only thnig that has changed is the vitamin drops
 
sadly smoky just died there was nothing more any one could do
he had just had his last cuddles from me and fell silently asleep in his cage
