I know I could probably find the answer by researching scientific names, etc., but I'm feeling lazy at 2:00 in the morning and hoping that somebody here knows the answer since there appears to be a lot of people with a lot of knowledge in this forum.

Yes, what pik said. CRS require cooler waters with a lower pH. Most of hte time cherry shrimp or other neocaridina can adapt well to those conditions but they are not ideal. Conversely, CRS do not adapt very well to ideal conditiions for neocaridina.
My ph is between 7.0 and 7.1 which is controlled by a ph controller. Essentially, they would be going into a heavily planted 55 gallon tank that has mystery snails, ramshorns, pond snails, and red cherry shrimp in it right now, along with a couple of royal farlowella fry. I know that 7.0 - 7.1 isn't optimal for mystery snails, but they have been in there for 2 months now and I haven't seen any pitting of the shells. In the next month or so, I'll be getting a 10 gallon for the mystery snail babies, so I'm thinking about getting another 10 gallon for the CRS. I'd like a 20 long for the CRS, but I think my wife might kill me.
That is the high range of what is ideal for CRS but should work. What is the tank temp? Crs are more particular about temp as well, they like it a bit cooler.
