Another quick Eheim classic question?

1. Do i have to use the white media container in my 2213 or can i use the 2 green perforated racks to separate the sponges/media?

2. I'm assuming i will need to get 2 double disconnects for the hoses to prevent the water from leaking from the hoses and the bottom of the filter correct? Could i get away with one single disconnect for the top and a double for the bottom?

3. Is it hard to get the cover off the motor assembly without breaking a tab off. I have one tab broken ratting around inside that I would like to get out.

Sorry for the eheim ? i'm new to them. I have not even started it up but i can see the improvment over my no name canister filter. ZACH
 
1. No, you do not have to use it but you will need to find the correctly sized lattice screen. I'm not sure if the lattice for the 2213 fits inside diameter of the media canister or the outer canister.

2. Correct, you need two for it to function correctly. If you only have a single disconnect on top (or bottom for that matter), it would siphon the water from the tank once you remove the filter.

3. No idea. Haven't tried to remove mine yet.
