hi all a good friend of mine sent me this email so i copied the body and will post it here
if anyone has ever heard of the band Helix my friend gord sent me this and i thought some of you might be interested in it
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I had the wonderful chance to write, arrange and produce the new HELIX Christmas Cd "A Heavy Mental Christmas" this summer.
Helix are 5 times gold and 2 times platinum, multi-million selling, Capital/EMI, eighties rockers from the good ol' days.
I managed to sell Wal-Mart Canada on the idea of the Helix Christmas CD, so lead singer Brian Vollmer, Steve Georgakopoulos(studio guitar/writer) and myself started our own record label: GBS Records. Our distribution is handled in Canada by Fontana North/Universal Music Inc.
The CD started hitting the front shelves of every Wal-Mart in Canada today, which for us is super exciting, considering we are right on the shelf beside the new AC/DC and Disney's High School Musical!
Shelf space for cds in a retail chain as big as Wal-Mart is very limited(unless you are Madonna) and we are competing directly with the biggest artists in the world so we have accomplished the near "impossible!"
Now this is where you come in!
We really need your support on this. If we sell out the first order at Wal-Mart they will order more and so on... Being the little fish in the big corporate sea we are asking for your support. Please go out and buy the cd at Wal-Mart asap! It is awesome! (if I say so myself ha ha). Family friendly, yet still rockin' (AC/DC meets Bon Jovi style!)
We will also be featured on all major Rock radio formats across Canada this season, so please call your local radio station and request Helix Christmas Music.( Radio will have the cd after Nov. 6th)
Anyhow, an early Merry Christmas to everyone and we appreciate all of your support on this. Spread the word as well! Email all of your friends!
Buy Helix - "A Heavy Mental Christmas" this week end at Wal-Mart!
