Ever since I got into this hobby, I've started to spend mass quantities of time at the LFS... and I don't even have any fish yet! Anyway, I saw this stuff, Tetra Nature's Delica Whole Blood Worms, in the isle and I was wondering if it's any good for fish. Supposedly the Blood Worms are in a "nutrient rich gel." Has anyone ever heard of this or used it?

Yep. I use it all the time as a treat for my fish,
i alternate it with the brine shrimp variation
made by the same company.
My fish go nuts for the stuff.
Cheers.

I didn't see the brine shrimp but I'll be sure to check it out and pick them up. Do you think this stuff is as good as frozen foods??

You can also get daphenia but the fish didn't
seem as keen on it.
Btw i think it is better than the frozen foods and
it couldn't be easier to use, or store.
When you get your fish try it , they will love it.
Cheers.

Daphnia (http://ebiomedia.com/gall/classics/Daphnia/feature_main.html) are water fleas.
I think the frozen food is better nutrition- Hikari frozen Bloodworms are reportedly the best.

Is Daphnia frozen or freeze dried? Can I find it at my LFS or is it uncommon?

Every ones entitled to choose their favourites Cerbhaill,

I've tried both kinds for Brine shrimp, frozen and the tetra delica, I've never seen the tetra blood worms though. I don't prefer one over the other, I use frozen when I have it and the delica when I have it but the choice really isn't due to preference, it's due to what I have at the moment for a treat. IMO, I think both are fine, I only use them as a treat, not as a main source of nutrition.

I use the delica water fleas as a treat and everyone seems to like it. The only problem I've had is that it does tend to sink pretty quickly. My paradise fish will dive for it and pick at it on the bottom, but the white clouds miss out. The crayfish love it though, and will catch it in mid drop.

I use Tetra delicia blood worms and daphina,my fish love em both.I feed eact twice a week in a funnel feeder. My clown loaches make a hugh cloud( which clears up) under the feeder and the others get in a frinzie in the clould.I started using daphina because i had a female betta with stomach trouble and daphina was suggested as a laxative. It worked and she`s much better now.i now use it as a treat.
