I would just like to hear some successful breeding stories if there are any out there.
type of fish
amount of spawn, did the fish live?
How did you feed the fry?
did you relocate the fry?
When did they spawn?
Types of other fish in tank, if any?
Size of tank
Water parameters
Any other problems or amazing feats?
Thanks a bunch!

There isn't much activity on the Prop. board here, infact I'm the only one that has been posting stuff in the last few months...

Hopefully interest will grow through our efforts and we can have a nice community of breeders here.

I'd even like to discuss some Coral Propagation if anyone is doing that...

My ocellaris clowns have been spawning every 10-12 days for months now, which is no amazing feat. All it takes is reasonable water quality and a mature pair. I don't have time for rearing them at this point, and it is quite sad to see the little eyes looking at me a few days before hatching. Good food for the tank, though.

Guy, what would you like to talk about regarding coral propagation? I just went to a fragging workshop this weekend (scored a ton of corals!), and some of my corals are getting big enough to frag.

I've only recently started putting corals in my tank so I'm only learning about the basic husbandry of corals at this point.

But I would like to read and learn (and hopefully add to the discussion) about how people are going about fragging hard and soft corals, what techniques they are using to grow them fast and get them to the point they can be fragged, and so on...

I think it could make for some interesting conversation.

Well, people are complaining (again) about how slow the marine boards are, so maybe I'll start a thread.

Hi,

I used to be a regular poster in AC but I now usually come and go...

Nice idea of actually having a specific forum dedicated to this topic.

I had a prolific clown pair, false percs, who gave me hundreds of clowns. I raised the fish and sold most of them to some LFS.

I no longer have this pair.

The only surviving fish from the hundred of fish I had are at my mom and dads house, but I plan to take them with me this December. I have a place for them here now, although I might choose not to attempt spawning again.

I would say that the tricky part is not pairing (at least as far as false percs are concerned) but to actually get them to begin spawning..

You are either lucky enough as I was (they spawned on their own, I was not expecting anything from them), or you have to be very persistent.

I know of at least one poster to this forum who used to spawn clowns.

I am interested in learning and hearing from others. Have anyone tried to spawn/rear any other marine fish, other than false perculas?
