Is there a rule of amount of fish in a certain size tank?

I hear all different numbers like 1 per 10 gallon 1 per 5 gallon,But I have seen tanks with alot of fish then I see tanks with one fish..

I know you can add alot if you clean the tank often and do water changes . But is there a rule of thumb?? I have a square 35 gallon and with 8 fish it still looks empty.

Nope, no hard and fast rule. Some fish have higher bioload, some outgrow the tank, some have lower bioload but will attack everything else in the tank, some will get along just perfectly, not outgrow the tank and combine to make a great stocking without overloading the tank. I personally have 9 fish and two frogs in 10 gallon tank. None of the fish are even an inch long and I get a consistent nitrate reading of 10 with a weekly water change of 30%. Of course, five of those fish are going to move very soon.

I have avergae size I am sure I will be back to my 75 or 55 gallon shortly This is a perfect size tank fits allover

mine are Angel fish and mollies with two tetra
But I would love to add more
