So we've all heard stories about how people end up with all kinds of neat things that come off of the live rock they've added, right?

Well, I've had my tank up and running for going on 3 years now and all I've gotten from my LR is what sounds like a mantis...

I've been hearing this noise all night, every night for the past year. (You guys know the noise, right? The noise that sounds like a marble is being thrown at the glass...)

Today I came home and decided to feed my little clown gobies, but something caught my eye. I looked closer and saw a PISTOL SHRIMP!

I finally got something cool out of my LR! (He has probably always been in there, just too small to see or hear.) I'm thinking of getting him a goby. Do you guys have any recommendations? All I know is that I don't really want a yellow watchman since my two fish are already bright-a$$ yellow.

PS, I would love to hear your stories of the hitchhikers you all have dealt with!

what do you guys think of him? -pretty, huh?

wow, you are freakin lucky. they're other watchmen gobies that arnt yellow, but its not nessesary and theres a good chance they wouldent pair up. your lucky tho

thanks, cam. i've looked at several different gobies. it's just that everyone's first recommendation is the yellow watchman lol. i'm leaning towards a pinkbar prawn goby. if they don't pair up, it'll be a nice addition to my tank anyway.

would it be possible to get a better picture of him? How big is he?
Just as many gobies don't pair with pistols, there are also many pistols that dont pair with gobies.

i can try. he's very small; probably not even 2". i know they might not pair up, but i want to give it a shot. i'll try to get a better picture for you. he's elusive and quick, so it's pretty difficult.

i had a pistol as a hh on one of my pieces of lr it was pretty cool till i had a four day power outage and crashed everything in my tank but snails and hermits. mine was a cool blue and green color. he was tiny probably only about a half inch. if you search my posts you will see a picture of it.
