I have had the cories spawn many times over the past couple years but never cared to try and keep them . I had about 12 survive in my heavily planted tank but I have since removed the plants from that tank.
Just a few weeks ago I moved 8 from my 125 into my 30 gal and within a couple days there were eggs on the glass. This time I removed the eggs and tried to keep them. I placed them into a plastic container with an air stone and a drop of malachite green . They hatched in 3 days . I moved them into a bare bottom 10 with new declorinated tap water and added more malachite green. Within a couple days all were dead. I thought , oh well , and packed it all up. Well a week goes by and more eggs on the glass. I decide to try again, this time with gravel on the bottom of the 10 , water from the spawn tank , and 1 drop of malachite green, air stone and a heater. After 3 days of hatch I introduced the wigglers into the 10 and now 2 weeks later the gravel is alive with wigglers, probably 100 or so. Then 3 days ago I got another deposit of eggs and last night actually witnessed them hatching :). There are at least 100+ babies.
I feed them with First Bites once a day and do half water changes every few days. They are growing pretty quick . You really can't see them in the pics but this is my setup .
