Anybody used this before??? I am trying to come up with a good variety of foods for my cichlids. Here is what I have come up with so far...

1. Bio-Blend Large Cichlid food
2. HBH Cichlid 4 Flake Frenzy
3. HBH Super Sinker Pellets
4. HBH Soft & Moist Cichlid Pellets

What I thought about doing was mixing all these together in flavorless & colorless gelatin and just dropping in a couple of cubes per day. The reason why I want to do it this way is...

1. Less mess
2. All contained meal of variety foods
3. More enjoyable for the fish.

Now on to my pleco....

I keep trying to get him to eat HBH Veggie Wafers. From the contents on the back, it has EVERYTHING a pleco could ever want. Here is a small listing...

Spirulina powder, alfalfa meal, soy & wheat flour, spinach powder, carrot powder, zucchini flakes, and lots of vitamins an minerals.

I'll toss one in and it'll be their for a few days before it begins to mold. Do you guys think I should try some real stuff, like real zuccinin, carrots, & etc??? Thanks!!!

I don't know about mixing all that stuff together, but I can tell you I've never seen a pleco that didn't go nuts over fresh zucchini!

Agree on the zucchini. I prepare mine up in a large batch and freeze it. Just cut the zucchini into 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices and then blanche it (boiling water for for about 2-3 minutes and them immediately into ice cold water for 2-3 minutes). Then, just stick it in a zip lock bag and into the freezer.

Whenever I want to feed the plecos with it, I just pull out a slice and drop it in the tank. It floats until it thaws out and then because it has been blanched, it sinks right to the bottom and stays there...
