Hi, I recently purchased a Maxi-Jet 1200 Powerhead / MP 1200 for my 54 gal. corner bow Cichlid tank. Pictured here in this attached link below . I was just wondering, is this might be too powerful for this tank. Basically, it works excellent. However, I notice that my fish now crowd the left side of my tank, the opposite side of where the output flow is going.

I purchased this device to add some more oxygen to my tank and to sturr up the surface a bit.

No, they don't both go in the same direction. My output for my filter goes towards the front, more towards the left side. The power head, goes directly towards the right. I can see the flow of the power head going towards the right corner, then it deflects around the front. I think the power head might be too overpowering for my little tank...Do cichlids like currents?

All kinds of cichlids. I have 3 Yellow Libido's, 3 Red Parrot Cichlids, 2 Johani's (M/F), 2 syno catfish, a few Electric Blue's, 3 Bumblebee, 2 Jack Dempsy's, 2 Jewl's. Just to name a few.....lol.

I am attaching a link to some of the fish I currently have....
