I've been doing 50% water changes every two or three days. The goldies are eating Jungle medicated food-that treatment ends tomorrow and they'll be back to their usual diet for thanksgiving.

Not much change in Jack's fins. They are still quite pink, with visible red veins. He's active and eating though-he really likes that medicated food.

I'll fill the 75 gallon tomorrow and get everything running and move the fish thursday morning, after I make sure there are no leaks or other bugs in the system.

I bought a Python in anticipation of regular large water changes-the first time I used it, it stripped the plastic thread on my new faucet. So I'll be using the Python attached to the outdoor cold water tap and will add buckets of hot water to get the temperature I want for the initial fill.

I'll have to go shopping for a new kitchen faucet-with metal threads!-soon. I didn't like that faucet much anyway. I don't relish once or twice weekly 50% water changes on a 75 gallon with a 3 gallon bucket.

Well, keep up with the frequent water changes and the medication. You may need to go two rounds of the medicated food - sometimes one isn't enough to knock down the infection. Give them a few days of normal food, then go back to the Jungle food for the recommended time.
Sorry to hear about the python! They don't do well with plastic threading. :( Anyway, I guess it's a good excuse to buy a faucet you will like!
Best of luck!

thanks, I'll start another round of feeding this weekend if the fins are still red.

Filling the tank with the outside faucet is going well, I add a bucket of hot water now and then to keep it in the mid-70s. Fortunately it's a pretty warm day, so the outside water isn't that cold.

Happy thanksgiving to all
