I'm considering a light upgrade and like the sales pitch for the new generation leds, low running cost no tube/bulb replacements guaranteed for 5 years........
The question is , are any of you out there using leds as your main lights and what are the results? (good or bad)

Over here in Blighty TMC released there AquaRay AquaBeam 500 which come in single, duo twin or duo combo back in March 2008, has any body seen these used to good affect?

thanks for your time.

I use em for my sump, work well for that, grow lights that is.

I hear the spectrums can be fine tuned for the Display, I haven't seen a good unit of led running so I have no comment. on them per se.

I have taken my led lights and placed them on the tank and I don't think they illuminate like a good HO t5. Colors seem a bit odd. The led is more a direct beam, where a t5 or halide has a better refraction rate as far as I am concerned. In other words, the led lighting does not seem to bounce in the tank like other lighting.
