I decided to try to propagate some plants in a separate bin from my tank. I used high pressure sodium lamp and pressurized co2 w/ excel. The problem is that whatever plant I put in (HC, java moss, hygrophila etc...) begins to turn pale thereafter. I dose iron and ferts up until the conductivity reaches my normal tanks'. My normal tanks never had any problems with plants, and they get sunlight.
Any ideas?

I think the problem is the lighting. Do u use electronic timer? The same problem occurs to me. My anacharis are thriving and suddently the turn yellow and they don't respond to light (I mean the tip of the plant doesn't curl up or open in response to light). Still figuring out myself.
I would also think its not getting the proper lighting.
